A family of four in Staten Island keeps an eye glued to the ground as they walk about New York City. They are looking for coins that fall out of people’s pockets. Other people simply step over these coins, the Humpherys pick up these coins and blog about it.
So far this year, they have found $55.09. In their first three years they accumulated over $1000. It is simply amazing how quickly loose change can add up.

Crazy to think how much money is just lieing on the ground! Nifty story, dude.
This is amazing! My grandmother used to pick up soda bottles. Back then, it was 2 cents per bottle, when 2 cents was worth a lot more than the nickel we get in Massachusetts today. She happened to live in a highly traveled area, and raked it in!
She always said to me, the big thing about doing this is, of course: location, location, location.
She was a fun lady!
