For those who aren’t familiar, Sears Outlet is a store where you can buy new items that are discontinued or scratch & dent at discount.  They are a fantastic place to go for appliances if you are in the market.  We purchased our refrigerator there at around 60% of retail (discounted due to a scratch on the side that is against a wall so I can’t even see it).

To celebrate their 40th anniversary, they are currently having a sale with items 25-75% off of their sticker prices.  Everything from TV’s to washers/dryers to treadmills.  The sale lasts until October 29.  Details are available here.

One of the money saving tips I can’t stress enough is to utilize less expensive stores for things you need.  Stores like Goodwill aren’t just less expensive for you, the profits are utilized to help your local community.  Why get a new shirt for $25 at the Gap, or even $15 at Wal-Mart when you can go get a lightly used one at Goodwill for $5?  This is even more true when you have children that outgrow things faster than they wear them out!

Sense To Save posted an entry that points out that more middle-class people are shopping at thrift stores.  Could the stigma of buying used finally be declining?  Society has had quite an excess for a while and it has had quite a cost.

In case you missed the $25 for $2 deal earlier in the week, there is a new deal at restaurant.com.  If you enter the code MORE at checkout, you can get 60% off through tommorow!  As I understand it, this is unlimited and you can buy as many gift certificates as you want.

If you aren’t familiar with Restaurant.com, you should be.  You can get a gift certificate for various local restaurants (yes, good ones).  These are good for a year.  It’s a great way to save some money on dining out, especially if you can get them while they are having a promo like this!  Without the promo it’s $10 for a $25 gift certificate which is a good deal on its own, but this deal makes it hard to pass up!

You may have noticed the coupons that have been added to the left sidebar of the blog.  These are provided by coupons.com and are no cost.  We’ve used these in the past and they are great.  You can print them directly from your computer and yes… they are free!

Feel free to use the arrows next to where it says “Scroll Coupons” to see if there is a coupon of interest for you.  They often have some good coupons in there, especially if you look for double or triple coupon days.
